// Russian plein-air pastel painter Sergei Oussik was
moved by the spirit of the times to embrace his face as an artist

Renowned Russian pastelist in two exhibits

HARPSWELL – Two local venue’s will host the first USA visit of Serguei Oussik, an inter-nationally recognized pastel painter from St. Petersburg, Russia.

Serguei currently is showing in London, England, and last year was invited by the French to become a master pastelist in their country, including having a show at Limoge.

He has been recognized and included in Italian shows as well.

Originally from Andijan, Serguei paints in St.Petersburg and in Finland, where his son lives.

He is energetic and charismatic, and speaks English quite well.

Serguei has been featured in International Artist magazine and also in Pastel International. His works radiate a special use of color in reflections and skies.

He has come to Maine to demonstrate his methods, arriving June 30th.
He will have a show at Harpswell Town Hall the end of June and will be at the Orr’s Island Schoolhouse Gallery (Harpswell) starting July 9th.
He will be doing demonstraÂtions in Kennebunk the week of July 11 – 15 for the Pastel Painters of Maine and will be in the Harpswell area July 16-19.

This is a rare opportunity for the artists of Maine to work with a world class painter, espeÂcially one who Is.as vital as Mr. Oussik.
